What are the differences between silicone pressure sensitive adhesive and traditional pressure sensitive adhesive? Silicone pressure sensitive adhesive is used more in our life, its outstanding performance, has been a very popular product in the industry, a lot of people do not understand why silicone pressure sensitive adhesive is so popular, so what are the differences between silicone pressure sensitive adhesive and traditional pressure sensitive adhesive? Here is to take you to understand.

The difference between silicone pressure sensitive adhesive and traditional pressure sensitive adhesive:

Compared with traditional pressure sensitive adhesives in China, the excellent performance of silicone pressure sensitive adhesives shows its chemical tolerance, performance stability under extreme temperature and dielectric properties. Among all pressure sensitive adhesives, the critical temperature value of the performance of organosilicone pressure sensitive adhesive makes it perfect for use in almost any environment on earth (critical value of high temperature: 300℃, critical value of low temperature: -75℃). In some places with high environmental requirements, organosilicone pressure sensitive adhesive has almost no pressure. In addition, it can also bond a variety of difficult materials, such as polyolefin without surface treatment, fluorine plastics, polyimide and polycarbonate and other ordinary pressure sensitive adhesive can not adhere to the base surface, the experimental results of organic silicone pressure sensitive adhesive are satisfactory.

The pressure sensitive adhesive was cut into strips of 1 inch and fitted on standard steel plate. After being placed at 120℃ for 48h, the transfer of silicone pressure sensitive adhesive in steel plate was significantly less.

However, compared with traditional domestic pressure sensitive adhesive, silicone pressure sensitive adhesive also has the following disadvantages:

  1. The process is complex and the cost is relatively high. Its cost is about 2 ~ 3 times of acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive, natural rubber pressure sensitive adhesive 4 ~ 5 times;
  2. Most of the silicone pressure sensitive adhesive is solvent, will cause air pollution;
  3. The drying and heat treatment temperature is relatively high (generally between 100 ~ 180℃);
  4. adhesive relay is small, so the substrate treatment technology is very important;
  5. For methyl silicone pressure sensitive adhesive, in addition to the high price of PTFE and other fluoride, there is no suitable isolation paper. General silicone isolation paper will gradually lose isolation effect with the extension of time.

Smprotectivefilm is also committed to the emulsion pressure sensitive adhesive research and development, production, sales of the company. We can effectively solve the problems that customers encounter in the use of glue because of different production equipment and technology.

We specialize in the production of protective film and pressure sensitive adhesive for many years, with our own R & D team. In the future, through continuous research and development and summing up experience, our glue can be applied to more product application fields.
