Test method of pressure-sensitive adhesive

Water Based Acrylic Pressure Sensitive Adhesive

The test method of pressure-sensitive adhesive consists of the following steps:

pressure-sensitive adhesive

  1. Prepare 100mL, 10% trimeric anhydride trihydroxy resin sample solution.
  2. Use a clean rubber scraper to remove oil from the adhesive surface of the adhesive tape. Wipe with alcohol or ethanol 10 times and dry the adhesive surface with a hair dryer.
  3. The tape is taken from a domestic production line, and the standard experimental adhesive is 100% methacrylate pressure-sensitive adhesive from domestic mainstream manufacturers.
  4. Hang the tape at 0.5m on the horizontal plane to make it droop naturally and avoid the glue facing down. Fix a 1.5m×1m steel plate or board on the top of the rubber side 0.5m away from the tape, and apply a small amount of primer to the surface of the steel plate or board.
  5. The prepared sample is naturally pasted on the steel plate or board coated with primer according to the width of the tape, and a 50mm thick polyethylene foam block is added between the tape and the steel plate or board to make the sample pasted tightly.
  6. Prepare 0.2mol/L sodium hydroxide solution by dipping method, and place the sample on the center line of the tape so that the sample is equal to the container containing the solution. Remove the excess solution from the surface of the tape with absorbent cotton or a clean squeezer.
  7. Weigh the 0.2g gelatin sample, prepare 100mL solution with 0.9% sodium hydroxide solution, and put it in a volumetric bottle. Take 25mL gelatin solution into 250mL beaker, add 100mL water, heat to about 80℃, stir while adding 25mL 0.2mol/L sodium hydroxide solution drop by drop, adjust the temperature to about 80℃, continue stirring until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
  8. Under strong stirring, slowly pour the sodium hydroxide solution into the gelatin solution, and adjust the total volume to 40mL with 30% sodium hydroxide solution. Under strong stirring, add 4mL of n-butanol solution and stir strongly to mix well.
  9. Use hydrochloric acid standard titration solution to titrate the above mixture. When the color of the mixture changes, use a titration liquid drop to settle to the endpoint. Note the volume of the standard titration solution of hydrochloric acid consumed.
  10. Repeat steps 7-9 to record the volume of hydrochloric acid standard titration solution consumed by three concentrations (2.5g/L, 5g/L, 10g/L) of gelatin solution.

Through the above steps, the test results of pressure-sensitive adhesive can be obtained.
