Flatness of pressure-sensitive adhesive
The flatness of pressure-sensitive adhesive means that the pressure-sensitive adhesive tape has good adaptability to the glued surface during the pasting process, and does not produce obvious shrinkage, distortion, or deformation. Flatness is one of the important indexes to evaluate the quality of pressure-sensitive tape.
For example, if the surface of the pressure-sensitive tape is not smooth enough, the following problems may occur:
- Decrease in adhesive force: If the surface of the pressure-sensitive tape is uneven, the contact area between the adhesive surface and the adhesive layer will become smaller, thereby reducing the adhesive force.
- Shrinkage deformation: If the surface of the pressure-sensitive tape is not smooth, there may be shrinkage deformation after pasting, resulting in wrinkles or bumps on the surface of the pasted object.
- Reduced durability: If the surface of the pressure-sensitive tape is uneven, it may crack and flake during long-term use, thereby reducing the durability of the tape.
Therefore, flatness is one of the important indicators of the quality of pressure-sensitive tape, manufacturers usually improve the flatness of pressure-sensitive tape by controlling the quality of raw materials, production process, and other factors. When consumers choose pressure-sensitive tape, they can also judge its flatness by observing the surface quality of the product.
