Protective Film FOB Shipping
“Protective film FOB shipping” refers to the transportation method and responsibility allocation of protective film products in international trade.
FOB (Free On Board) is an international trade term that indicates the seller delivers the goods to the designated loading port and completes the delivery when the goods are loaded onto the vessel. At this point, the seller’s responsibility and costs end, and the buyer becomes responsible for the shipment of the goods on the vessel and all subsequent costs and risks.
For example, let’s assume a Chinese company orders a batch of protective film products from a company in the United States and agrees to use FOB shipping terms.
According to the FOB terms, the seller (the US company) is responsible for delivering the goods to the designated loading port (e.g., the Port of Los Angeles) and paying for the loading of the goods. Once the goods are loaded onto the vessel, the seller’s responsibility is considered fulfilled, and at this point, the ownership and risk of the goods transfer to the buyer (the Chinese company).
In this example, “protective film FOB shipping” means that the US company delivers the goods to the Port of Los Angeles and pays for the loading cost. Once the goods are loaded on the vessel, the ownership and responsibility for the goods are transferred to the Chinese company, including the shipment cost and risk of the goods while on the vessel. From this point onward, the Chinese company is responsible for transporting protective film products and all related costs and risks.
