Environment-friendly adhesives have become the irreversible development direction
With the progress of technology, as well as the concept of protecting the environment and cherishing resources, the demand for high-performance environmental adhesives will be further expanded.
High-performance environmental adhesive due to its high solid content, no solvent, water, light curing, and other environmentally friendly characteristics, is expected to gradually replace the traditional medium and low-grade adhesive, and the environmental adhesive has a higher gross profit rate, wider application range, good prospects in the future.
Environmental protection adhesives mainly include:
- Hot melt type
- Water-based type
- Solvent-free
- No model
- UV photocuring type
- High solid content type
- Biodegradable
- Natural type
Among them is the water-based adhesive introduction:
Water-based adhesives are heterogeneous systems with water as a dispersing medium. Adhesives with water as a dispersing medium belong to a category of environmentally friendly adhesives.
Classification:
The adhesives that use water as the dispersing medium are divided into water-soluble adhesives, water-dispersed adhesives, and water-emulsion adhesives.
According to the source of raw materials, it is mainly divided into water-based organic silicone adhesives, water-based polyacrylate adhesives, water-based epoxy adhesives, water-based polyurethane adhesives, polyvinyl acetate emulsion adhesives, neoprene latex, etc.
It mainly includes phenolic aldehyde, EVA emulsion, polyacrylate emulsion, urea aldehyde, melamine formaldehyde, polyvinyl acetate emulsion, waterborne polyurethane, and water-emulsion epoxy glue, the latter is in its infancy in China.
Advantages and disadvantages
Water-based adhesives are one of the developing trends in adhesives. Compared with solvent-based adhesives, water-based adhesives have the advantages of no solvent release, meeting environmental requirements, being low cost, non-combustible and safe to use. Solid content is relatively high, up to 50% ~ 60%. However, due to the slow volatilization of water, the glue curing slows down or needs heating and drying equipment.
Many foreign government departments have issued laws to restrict the use of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The change of adhesive from solvent to water-based has become inevitable, which is being vigorously researched and developed at home and abroad.
SMprotective film company focuses on studying water-based pressure-sensitive adhesives for more than 20 years and independently develops various types of water-based pressure-sensitive adhesives. Has been to provide customers with thoughtful service.
