Crosslinked pressure sensitive adhesive with high holding strength
Acrylic polymers have excellent light resistance and transparency, and depending on the combination of raw materials used to synthesize the polymer, acrylic polymers can be given functions suitable for a variety of applications. Therefore, acrylic polymers are preferred to be used in the pressure sensitive adhesive layer of a high holding strength crosslinked pressure sensitive adhesive. For example, the following thermoplastic acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesives have been proposed.
Pressure-sensitive adhesives are obtained by the precise polymerization of block copolymers of acrylates as soft segments and methacrylate as hard segments by active polymerization, and have excellent properties in various aspects such as heat resistance, weather resistance, flexibility, transparency and pressure-sensitive adhesion. A pressure sensitive adhesive sheet can be prepared by co-extrusion using a thermoplastic acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive because the pressure sensitive adhesive is thermoplastic.
According to co-extrusion molding, the sheet can be produced in one step because the backing layer and the pressure sensitive adhesive layer are extruded at the same time to laminate. Therefore, the production cost can be reduced and the production process simplified. In addition, co-extrusion molding has the following advantages. Solvents such as organic solvents are not used, so drying steps are not required and environmental load is low. On the other hand, when the acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive is prepared by co-extrusion, the following problems occur.
Since the production is done in one step, the surface of the material forming the backing layer (the back lining) cannot be pretreated. Typically, when a backing made of a non-polar material such as polyethylene or polypropylene has a highly polar acrylic type pressure sensitive adhesive layer, their electrostatic interaction is weak, so the adhesion between the backing and the pressure – the sensitive adhesive layer is low. Thus, the adhesion between the backing layer and the pressure sensitive adhesive layer is improved by subjecting the surface of the backplane to pretreatments such as corona treatment and plasma treatment. Pre-uv light irradiation or electron beam irradiation treatment. However, co-extrusion molding precludes this pretreatment.
As a professional acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive supplier, Smprotectivefilm is committed to solving the glue problems encountered by customers due to different production equipment and processes.
Compared with traditional solvent-based pressure sensitive adhesive, our emulsion pressure sensitive adhesive has the advantages of environmental protection, safety and easy operation. Using deionized water instead of traditional solvent reduces the pollution to the environment and is an ideal environmental protection product.
By adjusting the proportion of curing agent, pressure sensitive adhesive with different adhesive force can be obtained to meet the needs of different applications. Suitable for a variety of materials, transparent after drying.
